I just download 720p, 24min episodes of bakuman for example.

Normally 720p videos van be from 250mb~~300mb.



But this videos are 80mb and it is 720p !!!!!.



How come?



greetings,Assuming that the episode isn't cut short, the answer has to do with the compression level. It's possible to have a 720p picture but greatly reduce the stream of data for drawing it, making the file much smaller. You might end up with a 720p picture that looks like a used VHS tape if you cut out too much information, but it will still be technically 720p.



For example, there is a very noticeable difference in quality between my cable company's 1080 "video on demand" and a 1080 picture from a blu-ray drive. The cable company compresses the picture (because they have limits on total bandwidth) to a much greater degree. It's quite noticeable in action scenes, where a lot of the picture is changing from frame to frame. Here's a discussion with screen captures:

For example - I have the 1st 13 episodes of Kimi Ni Todoke Season 1 on my laptop (didn't get time to download the rest at the time). Most of them are in .MKV format and are between around 240 and 310MB. Two of them are in .AVI format and are around 170 MB.



Then I have some full-length episodes in .MP4 which are just above 100MB.



Also - the quality could affect the size. For example - take an image with dimensions of 640 x 479 - say, an anime screencap, or piece of fanart. Now take an image of just a plain coloured square with the same dimensions. The latter will have a much smaller file size. I tested this with two file - the one with the picture was 62KB and the other was only 6KB, even though it was the same size.



So, a better quality video will probably have a larger file size than a lesser quality one.
It's probably 10bit video, explain everything. It keeps the quality like the usual one (720p 8bit) but only smaller in size, of course it means that to play it you might need to modif your video player.
