Death Note is by far the BEST anime i have ever seen. It's a very serious anime, no comedy at all. It is only 40 episodes long, so it is nice and short :)



One Piece - Pretty funny anime, one of the best anime series i have seen. I ENJOY all episodes of it.
I think you should watch the following, may be a little... out there:

Outlaw star

Shuffle

Tenchi muyo

elfen lied

Gundam (preferably original, wing, 8th ms team, or any of the 00's. Have seen to much past that but here good things on others but personally I think the value of the show goes down after seed, might want to get other opinions.)

Full metal panic (finished watching recently, new favorite.)
