Spiral: The Bonds of Reasoning is a detective-ish type anime, but I don't think you'd dislike it. It's also supernatural, and has action. By detective-ish, I don't mean a detective trying to find the suspect (most of the time). It has to do with using your mind to figure out certain situations and surpass them, sometimes using psychological attacks. For example, the main character, Ayumu, has a collar placed on him that will eventually explode explode, and he has to find a way to work through the situation. Hope I didn't spoil. I suggest you read the manga though.

While mahjong is a game that is often played with family and friends, it is also a game that is played in the darkest corners of society. Nangou is a compulsive gambler who has accumulated debt over three million yen. In a last ditch attempt to clear his record, he decides to wager his life on a game of mahjong with the mafia. Unfortunately, as the game progresses, Nangou only moves further from the prize and closer to death.
